Two in a row with the George Baldock show.

Staines Lammas 2 v 0 Cobham

It's certainly the wind of change at the Lammas this week, with 6 points out of 6 for the boys. Only 10 days ago the Lammas were hammered 3.0 against North Greenford and looked like a team who had quit the season already, but after a heart to heart with the players and a little tactical switch from Nathan, the Lammas have now scored 5 and only conceded 1 goal in two games, against teams in a higher position in the league and are now looking to go into December with self belief and a togetherness that suggests that our season is far from over, in facts it's just begun.

Firstly I would like to say a special thank you to Andy Kidwell for bringing the Staines Lammas under 11's along to be mascots and ball boys, I hope they enjoyed the experience of the day. This is something which we are hoping will be repeated with every other Staines Lammas youth side.

Today's game against Cobham Fc was always going to be a must win game, before the match the players were relaxed and excited as they were aware that there new unofficial coach was to be present at the match and in the dug out too and they all wanted to impress the big man!!! Lol! ( mystery coach to be unveiled on Wednesday night )

Staines Lammas could not of started the game better, fast quality football, from all Lammas players, Ryan Williams and Jamie-Lee Smithers playing some neat football and exposing the Cobham right back with ease, as was Jamie Redrup and Ben Jacob down the right, George Baldock could of made it 1.0 as early as 3 minutes in to the game, a great run by Jamie Lee with a delightful cross which was nodded agonisingly wide of the goal, two minutes later and Ben Jacob narrowly missed Baldock at the back post and Cobham were living very dangerously. We didn't have to wait long for the First goal to come, Baldock drafting in at the back post and notching his first of the game on ten minutes, our second goal was only two minutes later, that man Baldock again was the scorer with a delightful finish from 15 yards, after great work from Ben Jacob.

Lammas could of and should of scored more but with the sending off of the Cobham centre midfielder towards the end of the first half, the boys started to relax and the half finished 2 v 0 to the Lammas.

In the Second half and Lammas couldn't produce the same quality of football as they did in the first half, but they never looked like conceding a goal. So thats now six points out of six and let's hope this is the start of a amazing run to promotion for the Lammas. With some positive news coming off the pitch too, this really is a great week for the Lammas.

Lastly today's man of the match is the one and only Ryan Williams, well done Ryan and mines a Fosters on Saturday.
